Style
Herts Corner Moodboard |
For our colour scheme we decided to choose a mostly blue colour scheme. This is because Blue is most commonly associated with Depth, stability, trust and wisdom. Being a footballing magazine, we need to develop a trustworthy relationship with our audience. We also require our audience to feel as if our knowledge and articles about football are factually correct. We are aware that having a blue colour scheme may appeal more to the male gender and we could be alienating our secondary audience of 16-25 year old women. However we believe our target audience is mature enough to look past colour schemes when picking there magazine to read.
The Font
For our Masthead we decided to use the font football attack. I feel as if our masthead font is perfect for our magazine as it is a bold font which stand out compared other footballing magazines. The font I have chosen is also similar to what can be seen on the back of shirts when displaying a footballers name. Therefore this allows my audience to understand what my magazine is themed on.before they have even read a single word.
The Visualisation

Herts Corner Double page spread visualisation |
In this article we strive to show the day-to-day training from Onslows pro direct academy. We wanted to emphasise the excitement that the academy has, we want to achieve this by having a exciting front cover. We also want to make our design simplistic for our audience to see but we also want to make our magazine have an edge over other footballing magazines such as FourFourTwo.
In our visualisation, we wanted our double page spread to look modern and sleek. We aim for our double page spread to have a large amount of images within the article. On the right hand side of our double spread we are planning to have a picture of their star player or if that is not possible then we would try to have a collage of OSA academy's best moments.

Legal and Ethical issues
As a footballing magazine we must ensure that we represent each and every football club with equal amounts of respect. We must make sure that we have asked permission from the club, supporters groups, academies etc, because magazine articles such as these a more often then not used as a platform for them to advertise or show their facilities in a positive light. Slandering a football cooperation can result in lengthy lawsuits made to Herts Corner. To avoid legal action like this, Herts Corner must do whatever it can in order to represent and respect all parts of Hertfordshire football with respect.
We must also take into consideration of copyright laws or club badges and photos, this again would be addressed during our time of asking for the clubs permission to be involved in our magazine.
An ethical issue we may face in the creation of our magazine is the involvement of minorities and women (or rather lack of) in our magazine. Predominately football has been enjoyed by Men, more recently however more and more women have been becoming involved in the sport, we would also have to focus on other groups such as the LGBT community in football. Historically LGBT community and other ethnic minorities have not been represented well enough in the past. As a Hertfordshire footballing magazine we may feel a higher pressure to represent them as our magazine has a communal theme to it. However we believe that we cant write about them all the time otherwise reader would get bored of the same stories. Failure to represent these demographics could lead to backlash form the public which could result in people boycotting our magazine.
