Learning outcome 3 (U21): Be able to pitch ideas on a proposed media product and respond to questions.

Final Pitch

For my Final pitch I made a number of changes to my power point. Firstly I addressed to the audience why Herts Corner needed to be created, I included articles about racism and how its effecting the game of football. I also added more pages dedicated to my target audience and what they would look like.  I also thought that our Competition page required a SWOT analysis, in order to show our audience what strengths they have and how we can outsell them. Finally we talked about our distribution as it was one of the questions I had predicted would be talked about in our new presentation.

Questions

Do you think there is enough content and Football organisations within Hertfordshire to warrant a magazine purely based on Hertfordshire football?

I think there is quite a lot in Hertfordshire to talk about, Even smaller teams we could talk about. If we ran out of things to talk about in our magazine. If we did talk about the same topics we could begin to talk about clubs with a heavy Hertfordshire backing or even Supporters clubs.

You talked about your Colour scheme being blue and how it links to loyalty and so on, Blue is also heavily associated with Men and Boys. Do you think having a blue colour scheme may alienate some female audience you're trying to appeal to?

Yes and No, Because obviously as you said blue stands out to boys, But with our female audience they tend to be more mature so I Feel as if they wouldn't look at colour as much as a younger girl who may look at pink, Whilst I think it could sway girls away, I do think that our audience is more mature to see past the blue colour scheme

Talking about the graphics are being heavily featured and the importance of those graphics how are you going to appeal to a broader audience with your choice of images?

With our images we would like to include both male and female images so that everyone feels that  they are part of the magazine and not alienate some people because if we just had all pictures of male coaches and players, we would feel as if we would be non inclusive of all genders.

Do you think Boys would be put off a magazine with female footballers?

I dont think so, football is changing quite a lot, a lot of men are starting to accept womens football and are starting to watch it more and notice the quality more. It's not how it used to be when it was sexist, nowadays I think that Boys typically of our age demographic generally accept womens football.

You mentioned social media and chose 3 platforms in particular to try and engage your audience what methods of advertising would you try to use?

We would probably use a viral football challenge to try and get people to re-post videos and promote our magazine. I'm not 100% sure about what the challenge would be at this moment in time but it would be football related.
