Creating the production materials Writing the Article Football is widely considered the most popular sport in the world. Whether you're growing up in Tanzania or Borehamwood, whether you're 7 or 70, whether you're rich or poor, football is on almost everyone's mind. Every child that loves football wants to be a professional footballer, however only a small percentage will ever make it, leaving the rest of the population falling out of love with the game. This is where the Onslow football academy comes in. Since its inception in 2013, The Onslow football academy has offered opportunities for students who have aspirations of playing football whilst allowing them to study A-Levels and BTEC's at Onslow's Sixth Form. We sat down with some of the players to talk about how the academy has given them new opportunities for their future. Interview with player Since joining the academy what's been your favourite aspect? Mark: Defi...

Style Herts Corner Moodboard For my moodboard, I decided that it would be key to include the theme of Hertfordshire signs in the bottom right hand corner, this is because I want my magazine to have a communal feel towards it. It captures the essence and spirit of the magazine. The moodboard also represents the type of content we will be delivering within our magazine, the use of football players from Watford, Stevenage and Borehamwood F.C. hopefully shows our power as a brand in order to attract professional footballers to be interviewed and feature heavily in our magazine. Finally we used smaller local teams such as Vipers and Onslow Pro Direct to again show our focus on community. For our colour scheme we decided to choose a mostly blue colour scheme. This is because Blue is most commonly associated with Depth, stability, trust and wisdom. Being a footballing magazine, we need to develop a trustworthy relationship with our audience. We also require our audience...

Response to feedback In the video shown Up above you can watch my two Pitches, feedback was given to me in the form of questions, The large majority of questions asked to me that I thought were helpful to my product creation. There were few questions that I Believe didn't contribute anything towards the creation of my product. Firstly a common question asked in my pitches was about my content in my magazine and would I run out of any due to Hertfordshire being a smaller footballing county. This is something to seriously consider as we hope that our magazine and more importantly our business can be sustainable for years to come.To combat this we have decided that during the footballing season we would focus our attention to clubs that aren't in Hertfordshire (however they still have a heavy Hertfordshire backing). We would look at supporters clubs, groups of people that would travel to a far way club and support them. This feedback was key ...

Final Pitch For my Final pitch I made a number of changes to my power point. Firstly I addressed to the audience why Herts Corner needed to be created, I included articles about racism and how its effecting the game of football. I also added more pages dedicated to my target audience and what they would look like. I also thought that our Competition page required a SWOT analysis, in order to show our audience what strengths they have and how we can outsell them. Finally we talked about our distribution as it was one of the questions I had predicted would be talked about in our new presentation. Questions Do you think there is enough content and Football organisations within Hertfordshire to warrant a magazine purely based on Hertfordshire football? I think there is quite a lot in Hertfordshire to talk about, Even smaller teams we could talk about. If we ran out of things to talk about in our magazine. If we did talk about the same topics we could begi...

Herts Corner: Pitches Practice Pitch Within my practice pitch one of the biggest mistakes I made was using the word 'copy' in reference to my competitors design and articles. Although I didn't mean to use the word 'copy' it stuck with the audience for the rest of the presentation and was the main talking point in most of my questions. One of my other questions was about equality and whether or not women would feature on the magazine. Below are the questions that were asked by the audience and answered by myself in the presentation. To avoid a controversial impact on your magazine in terms of the front cover and images of your magazine, would you include images of Women in football kits and playing? For our double page spread it would be about the academy and we would want to give an equal amount of photo time, we would want an equal amount of men and women in the photos so the product could be diverse You said with the competitors you would...

Herts Corner: Proposal Executive Summary: The print based media that I will be presenting to you today will be based around the theme of Football of Hertfordshire. More specifically, Herts Corner will be centred around football clubs, academies, facilities and what goes on behind the scenes at some of the top clubs in the Hertfordshire area. Herts Corner is striving to create a county wide magazine for all ages to read about their favourite local teams, whether they're English football league professional teams such as Watford and Stevenage FC, or a small academy situated in a secondary school, Herts Corner is hoping to cover everything to do with Hertfordshire football. The Title (Herts Corner) was inspired by corner flags on a football pitch, however the verb corner has connotations of smaller area, therefore suggesting that the magazine will have more of a personal connection with their target audience. Statement of needs: Herts Corner will be...
